Lots of animated shorts on tap in April, all around northern California!
The Tiburon Film Festival celebrates its 10th year beginning April 7, and features a 90-minute “World of Animation” program on Saturday, April 9 at 2:50pm.
The Sacramento International Film Festival begins this Saturday, April 9, and there’s a program of animated shorts on Friday the 15th including work by Don Hertzfedt and others.
Catch a special stop-motion event with Retro Vision Filmworks in San Francisco on Thursday, April 14 at 7:30pm; they’ll be showing a teaser/trailer and behind-the-scenes footage of their steampunk production of The War of the Worlds at The Residence, 718 14th St. SF.
The SF Underground Short Film Festival is scheduled for Friday, April 15 at 7:30pm. A couple of animated shorts are included and the show’s hosted by the cartoonish Peaches Christ.
The San Francisco International Film Festival returns with a pair of animated features (The Green Wave by Ali Samadi Ahadi, and A Cat in Paris (by Alain Gagnol & Jean-Loup Felicioli) as well as a program of classic 3-D films from the 1950s, including six animated shorts.
